G.I. JOE - SGT ROCK AND ROLL 3.75" REVIEW

In this entry I will be reviewing Sgt Rock and Roll, of Hasbro's G.I. Joe Series.

First, who is Sgt Rock and Roll. Fair question as it is not as mainstream compared to say, Duke, Snake Eyes, Destro, or Storm Shadow.

Dubbed as Machine Gunner, his real name is Craig S. McConnel, and his rank is that of Sergeant E-5 (later promoted to Staff Sergeant E-6). Rock 'n Roll was born in Malibu, California. This is according to his Wikepedia page.

This toy that I have was originally released in 2008. I got mine, ten years after via seller from Facebook. Not carded but the condition of the figure is very well tight.

My interest in getting this figure, despite it's being relative unknown is my friend used to have this figure back then. Yeah, it's that shallow.

At any rate, the 2008 iteration of the figure, just like most of its cousins is top notched. Great attention to details, pose ability, minimal but practical accessories or weaponry, highlighted by its MACHINE GUN and AMMU.

I am not sure if this figure is inspired by Chuck Norris. But it is totally bad ass.

SH FIGUARTS SHAIDER UNBOXING, REVIEW, AND NOSTALGIA

Shaider is another of my childhood superheroes. He represents coolness to me. Blue Hawk, Bavilos, Time Space Warp. Matrix Projection, Shooting Formation, and Super Blaster and all.

So it was a no brainer when I saw an SH Figuarts figure in Bangkok in Thailand that I should get it. By the way, this is a web exclusive from Tamashi Nation.

For this shoots I am using a crappy celphone camera. So bear with me.

It has the standard coolness of a SHF figures. The only issue for me is the limitation on the position of his right leg due to the holster.

If is full packed with accessories. The ordinary and laser blades. The laser blaster. Extra head. Six pair of hands for different purposes.

Shaider is on of the Space Sheriffs. To be honest, I don't care that much on the others. Shaider is cool enough for me not to think of anything else.

Cool poses from crappy cameras.

SAILORMOON SH FIGUARTS KO VERSION TOY REVIEW

In line with my recent experience in amazon.com, where my seller did not send the orders that I made, I am going to give to you a review, well sort of of SH Figuarts Sailormoon, which I am pretty sure what I have is a knock-off, bootleg, fake or whatever you call it version.

Sailormoon is a Japanese originating character from the anime (cartoons) and manga (not sure) variety. It was popular here in the Philippines back in the 90's and has one of the most catchy jingle or opening theme there is.

There are many Sailormoon, so we'll stick to the original Sailormoon which aptly called herself Sailormoon.

Right off the bat, the packaging's color scheme seems bland. Alert!!!

Then here is the complete accessories and alternate hands and face. It came complete.

Along with her cat Luna.

Ok, so once you get the touch and feel of its, it feels so fragile and the plastic has this sticky feeling. It has some bad paint jobs in some of its parts. Joints seems like going to break anytime.

But it is still pose-able and it has still some fun factor along with the worry. If I were you, I recommend to get the original, authentic version.

I got this bootleg version from a legitimate Mall here in our place.

BATMAN VS SUPERMAN - DCUC VERSION

This movie will break all records. May it be for the right or wrong reasons. Whether it sucks or not.

There is too much brand equity for it, to not.

DO YOU BLEED?

BATMAN VS SUPERMAN

MONTREAL SCREW JOB - BRET HART VS SHAWN MICHAELS

They say wrestling is fake. But nothing could be more real than the events within the saga of the Montreal Screw Job. Ok, Bret Hart is my favorite wrestler of all time. I expected him not to lose in his hometown. And I abhor Shawn during those days.

I've had my shares of heartbreaks, no pun intended involving Bret. There's the Diesel debacle. His humiliation from Jerry the King Lawler, and Hart Foundation losing to the Strike Force.

But nothing compares to the screw job. It felt during that time that I was also screwed. In hindsight, I did not understand how I'm really affected by it. Well, that's part of history and my history.

MY UNDERRATED POSEABLE SPIDERMAN

This is my only 6 inch scale Spiderman figure. This is not really a popular variant, and I cannot even remember what line it came from. This is not Marvel Legends, but for me this version is better than the first Marvel Legend Spiderman.

KNIGHTFALL(ESQUE) BANE VS AZRAEL

Bane - Got, MOC at a standard price in one of malls in Davao, Gaisano South.

Azrael - I don't remember where I got this but I'm sure it is either Greenhills, Divisoria, or Victoria Plaza.

Bane is one of the popular modern villains of Batman. Most can be attributed to the fact the he "broke" the Bat. The Bane toy looks stupid, but Bane the character is one of the more wise villain in Batman's gallery of rouges.

Azrael is another of those polarizing hero/anti hero that we have. I am not sure the character is popular outside of the  comic book people.

POWER MAN AND IRON FIST REVIEW - CULTURAL BREAKDOWN

Luke Cage, Hero for Hire, transforming into Powerman, and Danny Rand, martial arts experts/ dragon powered Iron Fist. Together, they team up as one of the underrated, and strange couple of the 80's.

Power Man and Iron Fist

I can't help but remember the Blaxploitation and Bruceploitation movies whenever I see them. At an initial glance, they are seemed to be the stereotypical Asian martial artist, and African powerhouse. But in their storyline, they are more than that, and their stereotypicality is irrelevant.

They are hard core justice.
Bass Ass Power Man Justice (Wadd u lukin at?)
Also, they are a combination of brute strength, and finesse. Reminds me of most tag team wrestlers.

I heard they are having a netflix series. Great.

As for the toys,Iron Fist is one of my favorites in the toybiz era. It has great sculpts and articulation, especially if you want some martial arts poses.

Power Man is good. Despite, and probably because of the color combination, he looks mean and bad ass.
Power Man is from the Marvel Legends MOJO BAF series.
While Iron Fist if from the APOCALYPSE BAF series. All of which are in the 6" Marvel Legends Series.

SUGO NG ESCAPA

If only I have the time. I would have wanted to have a toy comic. Sort of like this.

MARVEL UNIVERSE X-MEN COLLECTION

There are a lot of X-Men teams out there, which means there are lots to collect. Mine is the line up of the X-Men animated series of the 90's.

Remember this:

The music means awesomeness is coming.

So officially, my collection should be of the following:

Professor X
Cyclops
Wolverine
Gambit
Beast
Storm
Rogue
Jubilee

and.... Jean Grey, which I still lack.

Everyone is carded except for Cyclops, and probably Jean Grey (fingers cross) which is very to hard to find at a reasonable and fair price.

BUDO GI JOE 1988 REVIEW - BLAST FROM THE MEMORY LANE

Wow. Just recently, I got hold of G.I. Joe Budo. A not so popular mainstream character in the G.I. Joe mythos. But this figure took me back to the days when I could barely afford to buy one.

This figure happens to be my first GI Joe figure. I remember correctly, it is around 1989 when I got mine. With the power of the internet, I was able to find its carded photo:

My new one, I got from ebay, a loose figure. Back then, It cost me roughly $2.50. The one I got from Ebay, cost around $10.00.

Anyway, what I like bout this figure back then, even though I have no idea who he is, are its accessories. As a kid, the more will always be merrier. It seems like the it is more valuable.

The good thing is that the one I got has complete accessories.

It has its helmet, back pack, Katana Blade, extra samurai in scabbard, and a Sai. Joints are tight, but like most cases, it's O-Ring is loose. My original Budo figure also suffered from this, and eventually broke its o ring and its metal ball and hook connection to the leg.

It has the standard articulation as of any GI Joe figure of the era, also it is suffering from scale problems, and having an awkward pelvic structure.

Back to who Budo is, well I still have no idea who he is. His name, refers to Japanese Martial Arts. But I suppose he is a Samurai warrior, or I could be wrong.

Great to have him back. My first G.I. Joe figure. Totally outdated from the current Joe figures, but equally fun and definitely nostalgic.

Time to meditate.
